high school for whatever’s next. especially if it involves college and life-changing careers.

Forte Prep High School is a community-driven high school program that builds essential leadership skills, creates deep community identity, intentionally accelerates college credit accumulation and develops career awareness for 560 students in our incredible borough.

Forte Prep will recruit the majority of students from the communities of Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst, and Corona, in the Borough of Queens. We believe that all students, regardless of race, socio economic status, immigrant status, or language spoken at home can excel if they have access to a quality public education.

  • The academic core for Forte Prep HS will create an onramp for Forte Prep Academy 8th graders, front load Regents requirements in the first 2/3 years, and emphasize the development mastery of all fundamental literacies in order to be prepared for college, career, and life.

  • The project will be integrated/embedded into the curriculum at each grade level. Every class has a connection to the topic/theme and the advisory program will also include a block for planning. At the end of the year, students will present their projects to an audience of teachers, parents and peers. The project will be a significant part of their grade.
